On July 23, 1985, the Amiga 1000 was introduced by Commodore. The Amiga quickly became known for its graphics, audio, gaming and production capabilities.   Amiga_1000DPThe Amiga 1000 originally sold for $1295 without a monitor. It had a Motorola 68000 CPU running at 7.14 Mhz, 4 channel stereo sound, graphics modes that could display up to 4096 colors at once, and a pre-emptive multi-tasking GUI-based operating system.
